Boston... Epic!!! I Still Can't Believe I'm Good Enough to Run that Town!
I'm a DORK!
Famous GREEN MONSTER at Fenway Park!
We went to check out the New England Aquarium... a little busy because of Patriots Day, but still a great time!
Of course we had to stop and have lunch at CHEERS! Where everybody knows your name!
So much history in this town.... Pretty COOL!
Totally surreal! I can't believe I am good enough to run the "Boston Marathon"! If you would have told me 10 years ago that I would one day run the Boston... I would have laughed. One of my greatest accomplishments for sure! Only runners know how hard it is to run 26.2 that fast... It is not easy and I respect the sport! I'm worthy! Anyway... I LOVE the running community! I met so many amazing people. There are a lot of runners running by themselves because you have to qualify to run... Therefore there is a lot of meeting new people. I talked to a couple of runners that were there during the bombings... very cool to hear their story.... CHILLS! Although we have to hang out in the athletes village for a couple of hours at the beginning, its still a great time because we get to talk about running which is my favorite thing to talk about hahahahaha! I wrote my name on my shirt again this race and felt like a super star on a major sports team.... after 3:46 minutes of hearing my name I kind of got sick of it and so did the other runners around me!LOL! We had so much fun in Boston running around. We got to go to Fenway Park for the afterparty and walk around the outfield. I am so thankful that I got to bring my little entourage... especially my MOM! She is my Mom and Dad support. I think about my Dad when I run and he was the only thing missing from the equation. I wish I could of run it while he was still around... because this race is kind of a BIG DEAL.... He would have been so proud of me. Miss him! Thank you Mom for being there!!!!! and of course thank you to my little family that gives me so much support and LOVE! It was even nice having Grandma Marianne there. She is from Boston and takes a lot of pride in the marathon being there. We had a GREAT time and I'm pretty sure I will be returning next year to do a repeat... Hahahahaha!
